tucked deep into north georgia’s ancient blue ridge mountains is the casual and inviting kingwood resort & winery. rest in one the spacious guest cottages, restore at the blissful yet unpretentious day spa, recreate with onsite golf, tennis, pickleball, swimming, and hiking. indulge yourself with a glass at the resort’s new wine tasting room.

there’s knitting too. vendors will be on hand with healthy selections of yarn and other essentials. lively workshops directed by experienced but patient teachers are available too - all optional.

for more than a century, the lake junaluska resort has welcomed families and couples seeking peace and serenity. lakeside walking trails, gardens, wildlife viewing, and many other outdoor activities are on the grounds of the resort or nearby - and all beneath the spectacular balsam mountains.

• when is check-in time? - most retreaters arrive between 2 - 3 pm.
• are pets allowed? no.
• what should I bring to my room? - nothing.
• what to wear? it's summertime but you're in the mountains. be prepared for hot days and occasional cool evenings.
• what meals are included? breakfast and lunch at the terrace inn dining room.
• will you have a snack table? One of our traditions is the snack table. Please bring a bag or box of snacks.
• should I bring a lawn chair? not necessary.
• will the retreat have a "give & take table"? yes.
• when is "show and tell"? tbd.
• when is check out? - check out is 11:00 sunday morning. but there's no rush - enjoy the time between breakfast and 11 to fellowship and knit!
• what amenities are in my room? - each room at the terrace hotel includes private bath, bath linens, flat screen tv, free wifi, mini fridge, air conditioning, and heat. hair dryers, irons, and ironing boards are available. microwaves are not provided.

lake junaluska's terrace hotel is minutes from interstates 40 and 26 in western north carolina. within an hour's drive is gatlinburg, the great smokey mountains national park, cherokee, maggie valley, and the blue ridge parkway.

• should I bring a lawn chair? no. The catawba river inn has ample outdoor seating options - some on decks, others outside on the grass adjacent to the river.
  
• what time is check out? - check out is 11:00 sunday morning. but there's no rush - enjoy the time between breakfast and 11 to fellowship and knit!

rustic lodging with sweeping mountain views

little switzerland embodies what western north carolina is all about. sweeping mountain views, abundant foliage, pleasant temperatures, numerous natural attractions, plus the blue ridge parkway!

little switzerland, began as a summer resort in 1910, was named because of its sweeping panoramas of deep valleys and distant ranges resembling those of the foothills of the swiss alps.

the unsophisticated and cozy big lynn lodge is our happy place any time of the year. and, late fall weather is always delightful.

• what is check-in time? - most retreaters arrive between 2 - 3 pm.
• what to wear? daytime weather should be delightful but be prepared for cool evenings.
  
• what meals are included? breakfast and dinner. breakfast includes waffles, pancakes, toast, cooked to order eggs, and grits - order as much as you like. beer and wine are available but not included in the room price. you can also byob.
  
• is coffee available for retreaters? regular and decaf coffeer is ready in the lobby between 5:30 and 6 each morning and available all day. Hot water is available all day for tea and hot chocolate.
  
• should I bring a lawn chair? yes! bring a folding or lawn chair and mark it with a ribbon to identify it.
  
• What time is check out? - check out is 11:00 sunday morning. but there's no rush - enjoy the time between breakfast and 11 to fellowship and knit!

the crystal coast's miles of pristine white sand beaches have beckoned beachcombers and families for generations. there's a laid-back vibe here - no crowds, no canyons of high-rise condos, no traffic, no ruckus.

join us for our 4th year on the coast for a pleasant weekend of relaxation, listening to the gentle surf, basking in the warm afternoon sunshine, and sharing your love of knitting with other fiber artists.

• what is check-in time? 4pm. Checkout time is 11am.
• are pets allowed? Yes but hotel charges a $75 per day pet fee.
• what to wear? february midday temps are generally delightful but be prepared for cool mornings and evenings. it's still winter and the weather on the coast can be unpredictable.
  
• what meals are included? no meals are included in the daily room rate. retreaters are encouraged to visit the hotel's clam digger restaurant (winter hours could be in effect). great seafood restaurants can be found nearby in coastal communities.
  
• what amenities are in my room? - each room includes private bath, plush bath and bed linens, 32-inch flat screen tv, free wifi, danby deluxe cubic feet mini fridge, air conditioning, microwave oven, and hairdryer. ice machines are located on each floor. all rooms are oceanfront.
