that year avid knitter becky whitt was cruising the blue ridge parkway with her husband mike when she imagined a retreat for knitters in the mountains of western north carolina. retreats, she believed, should be affordable, relaxing, uncomplicated, welcoming to everyone, but most of all - fun.
the next year becky's first retreat was small - attracting a modest 18 knitters. every year afterwards her retreats have grown to where dozens of knitters and fiber artists from all over the us and canada trek to the mountains for 3-4 days of fiber, friendship, and fun.
in 2022 her first "surf, sand, & stitches" in atlantic beach, north carolina broke with tradition giving fiber enthusiasts the chance to enjoy their love of knitting in a gorgeous seasite setting.
19 years later, becky remains true to her original vision - knitting retreats that are affordable, relaxing, uncomplicated, welcoming, and fun.
